SubChapter #153 of the American
Payroll Association has been created in the Upstate of South Carolina.  The chapter will serve the areas of Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson as well as the other surrounding counties and cities.

    The chapter got its start when a small group of payroll professionals decided it was time to provide continuing education and networking opportunities for payroll and human resource professionals in the area. In the future the group hopes to offer study groups for those who would like to sit for the CPP and FPC exams as well as get involved in the community.

      Job Summary

      Performs a wide variety of payroll processing activities and record keeping to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the bi-weekly payroll. Proficient in working in Payroll and Time and Attendance software systems including editing functions.  Provides guidance, direction and education to managers, timekeepers and employees in payroll related matters. 

       Minimum Education

       Associate's Degree - Accounting, Business Administration or closely related field.

       Minimum Experience

       5 years - Payroll experience

       In lieu of the Above Minimum Requirements

       High school diploma or equivalent and 10 years of Payroll experience.

       Other Required Experience

       FPC - Preferred

      Payroll Clerk

      Greenville-based company is currently seeking an entry-level Payroll Clerk to assist with processing weekly payroll for 3,000 employees.  This position is very fast-paced, so qualified candidates must be organized, able to multi-task, learn new tasks quickly, and move from one task to another with ease.  Responsibilities will include data entry, processing Levy/Garnishment paperwork, working with employees to resolve payment issues, etc. 


      Skills & Qualifications:   

      ·         Computer proficiency is required, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, & Word

      ·         10-key proficiency is required

      ·         Two years’ experience in payroll is preferred but not required

      Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm with a 1 hr lunch

      Job Duties and Responsibilities

      • Provides superior customer service to all employees

      • Opens/Processes/Closes payrolls within the Human Resources computer system(s)
      • Prepares and distributes payroll reports/exports/funding, runs GL reports at month end, and calls in NACHA file to bank if Payroll Manager and Lead Payroll Administrator are unavailable.
      • Researches and prepares special reports for management and other personnel
      • Performs calculation of monthly bonus using computerized systems and manual spreadsheets
      • Tests computer systems and upgrades to ensure payroll is processed correctly
      • Review timecards for accuracy for assigned territory
      • Run GL and prepare journal entries for any necessary branch expense changes
      • Trains other payroll personnel
      • Prompt and regular attendance is required

      HCM Specialist (Human Capital Management)

      Primary Position Summary: Performance Payroll is looking for a professional to handle our clients in a fun, fast paced, dynamic environment. The HCM Specialist will normally handle a portfolio of clients, assisting with questions relating to their payroll, tax and HR services
      Key Result Areas:
      Specialist must be comfortable and proactive in reaching out to clients via phone and
